Is InvoiceBloom really 100% free?
Yes. Every feature is free: unlimited invoices, unlimited email sending, all seven invoice templates, PDF downloads, recurring invoices, and payment tracking. There is no paid plan and there never will be. Two optional things cost money and neither is part of the app: a 0.5% platform fee if you choose to accept online payments through Stripe, and a $19 downloadable template pack for people who want offline Word and Excel files. You never need either one.
Why is it free? What's the catch?
No catch. InvoiceBloom is supported by advertising on our blog and free-tools pages, so the app itself doesn't need to charge you. Your invoices and client data are never sold or shared with advertisers.
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No. There's nothing to bill, so we never ask for a card. Sign up with your email or Google account and start invoicing.
Are there limits on invoices or clients?
No monthly limits. Create and send as many invoices as your business needs, for as many clients as you have. A generous daily send ceiling exists purely as spam protection.
How do online payments work if the app is free?
Your clients pay you directly through your own connected Stripe account. Stripe's standard processing fee (2.9% + 30¢) applies, plus a 0.5% InvoiceBloom platform fee — about 50 cents on a $100 invoice. Creating and sending invoices costs nothing; accepting online payments is optional.
How does InvoiceBloom compare to FreshBooks or Wave?
FreshBooks starts around $23/month. Wave, like us, is free software that monetizes payments — Wave charges 2.9% + 60¢ per card payment all-in, while with InvoiceBloom you pay Stripe's standard 2.9% + 30¢ plus our 0.5% platform fee, and only if you choose to accept online payments.
